VoTriX invited to present live captions at the DSB hard-of-hearing assembly in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

VoTriX turns a phone into a live captioning screen
In short: the DSB State Association of the Hard of Hearing and Deafened of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, together with the Hörbiko Neubrandenburg counselling centre, has invited VoTriX to its annual members' assembly in Anklam, Germany, on 9–10 October 2026 — to present the app and give a hands-on live-captioning demonstration.

The invitation

While planning the programme for their yearly gathering, the organisers came across VoTriX — and reached out. Their members are volunteers from across Mecklenburg-Vorpommern who live, every single day, with hearing loss. What caught their attention was simple: the ability to caption conversations in real time, making everyday life, meetings and even phone calls easier to follow.

So they asked us to come to Anklam and show VoTriX in person — not just slides, but a real demonstration people can try with their own hands, followed by an open exchange with their members.

What we'll show

VoTriX turns an ordinary phone into a live captioning screen. In one short session we'll walk through the situations the association's members meet every day:

  • Face-to-face captions — see, in real time, what the people around you are saying: at a counter, in a meeting, at the family table.
  • Phone-call captions — read on screen what the other person is saying, so a call stops being a barrier.
  • Type, and the phone speaks — for people who cannot use their voice, VoTriX works the other way around too.
  • On-device and private — captioning can run directly on the phone, offline; the conversation never has to leave the device.
  • Translation built in — around 59 languages directly on the phone, and 200+ through server processing, so people can understand each other across languages.

VoTriX is meant to complement hearing aids, not replace them — a one-time purchase, with no subscription.

An invitation like this reaches exactly the people VoTriX was built for. Meeting the community in person — hearing what helps and what still gets in the way — is the best way to make the app better. We're honoured to be asked, and we're looking forward to Anklam.
